CalmMessage is an iMessage extension that rewrites emotionally charged text messages into calmer, clearer ones before you send them. Find answers below, or reach us directly.
Common issues
Signing in & email verification
I signed up but the app says my email isn't verified
When you create an account with email and password, CalmMessage sends a verification link to that address. Check your inbox and your spam folder, then tap the link. If you don't see it, open the CalmMessage app, go to Account, and tap Resend Email under the verification banner.
I clicked the verification link but the app still asks me to verify
This can happen if the app checked your status right before you clicked the link. Return to the app and open the Account tab. CalmMessage re-checks your verification status there. If it still isn't recognized, sign out and back in.
I signed in with Apple but I'm having trouble
Sign in with Apple accounts are verified automatically and don't need a separate email step. If sign-in fails, confirm you're signed into iCloud on your device under Settings, then your name, and try again.
I forgot my password
From the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter the email you used to sign up. We'll send a reset link to that address.
Rewrites & the iMessage extension
The "Steady this" button isn't responding
Make sure you're signed in. Open the CalmMessage app, not just the iMessage extension, and confirm your account shows as signed in under Account. If you're signed in and it's still stuck, force-quit Messages and reopen it.
I got a "please sign in" prompt inside iMessage
The iMessage extension shares your sign-in with the main CalmMessage app. Tap the prompt to open the app, sign in there, then return to your conversation and try again.
I'm out of free rewrites
The free tier includes a set number of rewrites each week, and the count resets every Sunday. Once you've used them, the app prompts you to upgrade. See Purchase & subscription problems below if upgrading isn't working as expected.
Purchase & subscription problems
I purchased but the app still shows the paywall
Subscription status can take a minute to sync after purchase. Close and reopen the app, or go to Account and pull to refresh. If it still isn't recognized after a few minutes, contact us with your purchase confirmation email and we'll look up your subscription.
I want to restore a purchase on a new device
Sign in to CalmMessage with the same account you used when you first subscribed. Your subscription is tied to your account, not your device.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
CalmMessage subscriptions are billed through the App Store. To cancel or change your plan, go to Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions on your iPhone, or manage it directly from the App Store app.
I was charged but never got access
Email us at support@calmmessage.com with your purchase confirmation from Apple and the email address on your CalmMessage account, and we'll sort it out.
Managing or deleting your account
How do I delete my account?
Open the CalmMessage app, go to Account, and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and its associated data. See our Privacy Policy for details on data retention.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
Go to Account in the CalmMessage app and use the notifications toggle. This is available whether or not you're signed in or subscribed.
Still stuck?
Email support@calmmessage.com with a short description of the issue, your device model, and your iOS version. That helps us track it down faster.
